Celebrating Youth Leaders Creating Impact Across India

On National Youth Day 2023, The Tale of Humankind announced the second edition of the Changemaker Awards, recognising ten young leaders from across India who are driving impactful social change.
Awarded Changemakers:
- Advik Singh (21), Delhi – Co founder, Chhalaang Foundation: Established vocational centres for marginalised women offering sewing training, daycare services, and income generation programs.
- Ananya Banerjee (19), Haryana – Co founder, Project Sushiksha: Built a mobile school for rural children while running campaigns on education access, menstruation awareness, and environmental action.
- Anuradha Barik (17), Odisha – Child Rights Advocate, Save the Children India: Prevented child marriages, organised plantation drives, and led youth hearings under the Generation Hope campaign.
- Chinnappa Das (23), Karnataka – Founder, Change the Narrative: Created leadership spaces for youth through camps, conferences, community dialogues, and podcast platforms.
- Gnanendra Sai K (19), Andhra Pradesh – NSS Volunteer, GIET School: Led nutrition education, dengue awareness drives, cleanliness campaigns, and student health outreach initiatives.
- K Lakshmi Lalithya (22), Andhra Pradesh – NSS Volunteer, GIET School: Organised health camps, vaccination drives, hygiene awareness programs, and major sanitation campaigns.
- Sohail Bhati (20), Rajasthan – Founder, Vrikshit Foundation Bikaner Chapter: Coordinated city wide waste collection drives, plantation programs, cycling campaigns, and wall art initiatives.
- Upasana Ravikannan (19), Chennai – Founder, GoPaadhai: Promoted inclusive education for underserved schools while advocating accessibility for students with disabilities.
- Vinisha Umashankar (16), Tamil Nadu – Clean Energy Innovator: Developed a solar powered mobile ironing cart eliminating charcoal use and improving livelihoods.
- Zain Samdani (22), Telangana – Founder, ExoHeal: Invented a therapeutic rehabilitation glove enabling faster recovery for paralysis and stroke patients.
The Changemaker Awards 2023 highlighted the extraordinary determination of young leaders across India who are transforming community challenges into opportunities for meaningful progress. Their work reinforces the belief that youth driven action rooted in empathy, innovation, and collaboration can build a more inclusive and sustainable society.
