About us
Discover the story and vision behind our mission to build a generation of young changemakers.
OUR VISION
We imagine a world where education nurtures empathy, creativity, and agency - where every young person is seen not just as a learner, but as a changemaker capable of transforming their community and the world. π±
Reimagining Education for
a World of Changemakers
Across India and the world, more than 1.8 billion young people enter classrooms every day, full of questions, ideas, and possibilities. Yet, according to UNESCO and UNICEF, nearly 70% of adolescents complete schooling without gaining the skills or confidence needed to solve real-world challenges.
In India, the ASER 2023 Report shows that while academic enrollment has risen to over 95%, fewer than 40% of students feel school helps them connect learning to life or community impact. Education, in its current form, often prepares young people for exams and employment, but not for life.
At Tale of Humankind Foundation, we believe that education must go beyond academics. It must nurture empathy, creativity, and agency - helping every young person see themselves as a changemaker capable of transforming their world.
Our work bridges the gap between awareness and action by equipping young people, especially school students, with the mindsets, skills, and spaces to identify social and environmental challenges, design solutions, and take meaningful action in their communities.
We work with educators, partners, and youth across India to reimagine learning as a process that's experiential, inclusive, and purpose-driven β shaping not just successful individuals, but compassionate citizens and leaders.

OUR GOAL
By 2030, we aim to:
- β’Equip 2,00,000 young people with changemaking competencies.
- β’Partner with 500 educators to embed changemaking in classrooms.
- β’Build and support 100 learning spaces and youth innovation hubs across India to reimagine education and action for the 21st century.
OUR APPROACH
Change begins when young people are trusted, guided, and empowered to lead.
Our approach focuses on building an ecosystem where learning is connected to real-world impact.
We follow a five-pillar model to nurture changemaking as a lifelong practice:
Equip β Introduce young people to the world's most pressing challenges through immersive learning experiences and design thinking workshops.
Enable β Build skills of empathy, creativity, leadership, and problem-solving through experiential and collaborative programs.
Elevate β Provide mentorship, recognition, and opportunities to scale ideas through initiatives like the Changemaker Awards.
Amplify β Share stories of youth leadership and social innovation to inspire others and influence mindsets.
Sustain β Build partnerships, communities, and institutions that make changemaking a permanent part of how young people learn.

OUR STORY
A journey of
passion and purpose
When Tale of Humankind began in March 2020, it wasn't meant to be an organisation - it was a response. Two school students, Aniket Gupta & Seher Taneja moved by the inequalities and disconnection around them during the pandemic, decided to start a small digital initiative to help young people understand their world a little better. That impulse to turn empathy into action became the foundation of everything that followed.

From a lockdown idea to a youth movement transforming changemaking education across India.
Expanding to rural areas
Began expanding operations to rural Chhattisgarh & Rajasthan to build changemaking programs in low-income schools.
Strengthened alumni-led initiatives
Built regional networks of student changemakers.
Strategic Plan 2026β2030
Launched foundation focusing on scale and sustainability.
