05 May 2020

At a time when classrooms shifted online and communities around the world experienced isolation and uncertainty, The Tale of Humankind Show was launched as a podcast series to keep conversations, learning, and hope alive. Designed as a platform for reflection and dialogue, the show brought together stories of resilience, innovation, and changemaking from across the globe, highlighting how education can remain deeply human even in times of crisis.
Across seven thoughtfully curated episodes, the series featured educators, policymakers, authors, climate advocates, and young leaders who were reimagining learning and leadership within their own contexts. Featured guests included Bronwyn Joyce, Global Citizenship Educator from Australia; Anil Swarup, Former School Education Secretary of the Government of India; Jennifer Williams, Co Founder of TeachSDGs from the USA; Arti Qanungo, Delhi Government teacher and Global Teacher Prize finalist; Garvita Gulhati, founder of Why Waste; Shantanu Gupta, author and educationist; and Vani Murthy, widely known as Worm Rani, a leading voice in waste management and climate advocacy.
Each episode centered around a shared question, how can education build humanity, exploring empathy, purpose, sustainability, and civic responsibility. Streamed by listeners across 10 countries, the podcast became a meaningful starting point for educators and youth to connect around values driven learning. The Tale of Humankind Show reaffirmed that teaching and changemaking are inseparable, both rooted in empathy, curiosity, and collective action.
