Youth Reimagining India’s Future Through Dialogue and Leadership

The Future We Want was a flagship youth-led dialogue hosted by The Tale of Humankind on August 15, 2020, marking India’s Independence Day with a powerful conversation on leadership, equality, and nation building. Organised as a virtual panel under the UN75 framework and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, the session brought together educators, youth leaders, social advocates, and policymakers to reflect on the kind of future young people aspire to shape in a post pandemic India.
The panel featured voices from diverse backgrounds including education, child rights, media, technology, and youth mentorship. Speakers such as Charu Pragya, Dimple Puri, Tanisha Pandit, Ashish Gupta, Shailendra Singh, and Yash Tiwari shared perspectives on education reform, social inclusion, gender equality, child protection, and responsible citizenship. Through candid discussion and lived experiences, the panel highlighted the importance of youth participation in decision making and the need for inclusive, value driven leadership.
The conversation went beyond ideas to spark long term intent, positioning youth led dialogue as a core pillar of The Tale of Humankind’s work. The session became a defining moment in shaping future engagements focused on empowering young voices to actively co create a more just, sustainable, and equitable India.
